NEWS

Flower Show

Part of the Society’s remit is to organise the Annual Cupar Flower Show. Run completely by volunteers, the Cupar Flower Shows attract a wide range of horticultural enthusiasts from Fife and beyond, and we are focused on providing our visitors with access to quality exhibits.

We are working hard to widen our audience whilst maintaining the high standards visitors expect. We aim to bring you gardening tips and hints, with links to other organisations.

The Cupar & District Floral and Horticultural Society marked its centenary year in 2011 with an exceptional annual Flower & Craft Show – full details and results are available from the Centenary Flower Show page.

The 2012 Annual Flower & Craft Show will be held on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th August, in the Corn Exchange, Cupar.  For more details please visit the Flower Show 2012 page.

NEWS

President Honoured

President, Les Wheelans, was recently honoured at the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society for his dedication and service (over 40 years) to horticulture.  After being given a certificate of merit from Jim MColl, Honorary President of the Caley, Les said he “was absolutely shocked to have been recognised by such a prestigious organisation” – and thanked them very much.

NEWS

Cupar Flower Show was invited to the Rotary Club, Cupar to give a talk to their members on 4th April 2012.  Debbie Wheelans, Vice President addressed around 35 members, and gave a very visual presentation on the Society over the last 100 years.  Described as fascinating, and very informative, the Rotary Club had no idea just how involved Cupar Flower Show has been in the community until Debbie’s presentation.

The Society would like to extend thanks to Cupar Rotary Club for inviting them to speak at one of their weekly meetings.
