The Cupar and District Floral and Horticultural Society’s annual flower show held in the Cupar YMCA on 16th & 17th August saw a number of new exhibitors doing very well indeed.  A superb array of pot plants and cut flowers were on display over the weekend, complimented by a number of exhibits in the Vegetable Section, despite the torrential rain days before the show.    The industrial section was also very impressive this year with the judges having a hard task in the home baking and handicraft sections.

This years School Competition was opened up to the primary schools of Castlehill, Kilmaron and St Columbus.  Pupils were encouraged to sow seeds in a container and bring them on over the school holidays, with the final display being made at the show.  The class, supported by Cupar in Bloom, saw a number of exhibits from Castlehill and St Columbus, with the winners being Primary 2 from Castlehill.

The Cupar Flower Show would like to encourage more people to participate in the annual event.  If you enjoy gardening, create hanging baskets, grow your own vegetables, are good at baking or needlework, then we want to hear from you.  There are categories for everyone from 5 years and under!
