Centenary Flower Show

Flowers, fruit and vegetables remain at the heart of the centenary show weekend, but from 10am to 6pm on Saturday 27 August and from 11am until 5pm on Sunday 28 August, there will be a range of demonstrations, talks and fun activities suitable to all ages and interests available.

FLOWER AND CRAFT SHOW

The aim of the show is to promote interest in and enjoyment of traditional pastimes, in particular, in the growing of plants and vegetables for pleasure and food, on a non-commercial basis.  In addition, skills in flower arranging, cookery, handicrafts and other leisure activities are encouraged.

Whilst there is a degree of competition, the Society encourages entries from all.  Many nervous first-time exhibitors find that their exhibits are really good and not out of place in the show.  We would welcome more people put in their entries as first timers really can win as Mr & Mrs Ted Rawlings found out when they entered their garden in the 2010 show and came away with TWO trophies!

Judging, of the Garden Competitions will take place on Saturday 23rd July and then at 9am on Saturday 27th August for all show entries, and is completed by qualified judges to national standards and the spectacle seen by the public is always appreciated. Prize money is awarded for all classes and trophies are offered for particular exhibits of merit.

Presentation of all awards and trophies will take place on Sunday at 4.45pm, and will be carried out by Councillor Frances Melville, Provost of Fife and by family members of the trophies that are being awarded.

Listed below are the various sections available for entry at the show with any specific dates you need to note (i.e. closing date or judging dates).  Full schedules are available for download or can be posted if you contact the Secretary (please note however, we are trying to keep our costs to a minimum whilst helping the environment – only print what you need).

To enter exhibits, please print off the show entry form  and note the classes you wish to enter in the boxes on the form.  You may not enter more than one exhibit per class.

Please post your entry form along with the relevant remittance to the Secretary in advance of the closing dates.

A small fee (£1) is also required per entrant (excluding children’s classes) to cover membership fees of the Society for the year.
