Centenary Show

 

The Cupar and District Floral and Horticultural Society is marking its centenary year in 2011 with a special 100th Anniversary Flower and Craft Show which will take place on Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 August 2011 in the Corn Exchange, St Catherine Street, Cupar.  

 

The two day spectacular will host the annual flower show, a coffee morning, demonstrations and talks alongside a craft and trade fair.  

 

Flowers, fruit and vegetables remain at the heart of the show weekend but fun activities suitable to all ages and interests have been added to ensure that the whole family can enjoy a great 2-days out.

 

Doors will open to public from 10am on Saturday 27 August with coffee being served in the Lower Hall and where home baking and produce can be bought and at 11am the Upper (and the Lower) Hall will open with full access to all exhibits. Doors will open on Sunday 28 August from 11am with doors closing at 6pm on Saturday and 5pm on Sunday after the presentation of awards and trophies.

DEMONSTRATIONS & TALKS

Special Guests

Jim McColl, from the BBC’s Beechgrove Garden will open the Show on Saturday 27th August 2011 at 11am, and will then be a panellist for our Gardener’s Question Time from 2.30pm, along with Les Bisset and Peter Christopher.  

 

If you have any gardening questions please feel free to come and ask.

 

If you have any plants, weeds or others that you wish to be identified, then these should be handed in to the Secretary prior to 1.30pm on Saturday; items MUST be placed in a sealed polythene bag to help prevent the spread of disease to exhibits within the show.  

 

We also have a number of other guests appearing throughout the weekend.

 

A series of demonstrations and talks have been organised throughout the weekend – we hope you will find these both interesting and informative.
